Thin Stamp

Overweight people are not inferior. Some people love videogames, online chatting or sleeping, while others love food. Some people can’t eat when stressed, while others start eating more. Some people gain extra weight more easily than others. I’m not against obese people; I’m against obesity, because it can cause serious health issues (I’m not talking about a few extra kilograms on the thighs: that’s not obesity). We sympathize with people who suffer from different problems; obesity is a problem like many others, it’s just more visible than most of them.

For that reason, it isn’t right to tease overweight people, but it also isn’t right when overweight girls say that thin girls are “skinny bitches”. I also don’t think that it’s an appropriate way to boost obese people’s confidence by trying to convince them that thin people are all anorexic and insecure or that thinness is an anomaly. I think this way is as ineffective as scorning an overweight person and thinking that it will make him/her lose weight. Instead, we should find someone to inspire and support those people.
