Six My head feels like it's cracked open Like a thick shelled egg that met its fate On the blunt edge of the kitchen counter The pieces number into the millions Like teensy shards of glass splintering inward Throughout my broken face Only there's one obviously large crude piece Wedged brutally between my eyes That won't budge for its bullheadedness But to barely touch it Brings me to my knees in screams Why is this always real? - Never a nightmarish dream? It might be more like an ice pick But does it matter if it brings my demise? Early as it may seem? I feel the blood oozing and dripping from the wound Like the shiny slimy yoke
